Going on a road trip has never been better– especially with some awesome road trip hacks for an easier time on the road. Taking a weekend road trip is an amazing way to appreciate the local surrounding and discover new places, but having some long road trip hacks can help avoid unnecessary hassles.

1. Keep Your Electronics In Place

Avoid struggling to try to find the route or restaurant by using Google Maps or other similar apps to help you find the right spot. But holding your phone is troublesome and dangerous while driving, so install a cell phone mount on your dashboard to make things easier. You can even use a binder clip to attach your phone so that it’s at eye level – some of the simple road trip hacks you need to know. Buying a regular map for navigating is still a good idea too, However, with this travel hack, other travel apps can be used on the go as well.

 

2. Always Carry Some Snacks

Driving on the road for hours can make anyone hungry, so always carry some snacks along for the family road trip. Some travel hacks for parents include taking dry snacks such as crisps, health bars or dried fruits to name a few. Alternatively, you can look up easy recipes and make some special snacks to take along for the trip - but preferably foods that are not messy or distracting. You can also store drinks and snacks in a cooler box or keep these items organised by using plastic shower caddies and small containers. Take some disposable cutlery and paper napkins so that eating during travel time is easier to handle.

 

3. Keep Things Entertaining On The Road

Unless you are traveling along a scenic route and stopping over at interesting spots, a long drive can feel endless – but there is no need to feel bored. While traveling with young children can be fun, keeping them relaxed on a trip is not that easy. 4. Pack A First Aid Kit

An emergency kit is quite essential for a short vacation if you will be traveling with children or spending several hours on the road – especially if you will be driving through more desolate areas. You can include items such as wet wipes, painkillers, insect repellent, Band-Aids, scissors and other necessary first-aid items. You need not carry a huge bag, but a small kit with the basic items will do.


 

5. Get Comfortable With Travel Pillows

There is no need to wake up with sprains or an aching neck when you have an excellent travel pillow. There are several designs to choose from such as travel pillows that can be strapped onto a seat belt - or the better known circular pillow that fits around the neck. You can even a pack a small blanket or two for extra comfort.
