Day 2 in Bintan with Malaque!

We had a change of air in day 2. We left the resort life and went to the more urban side of Bintan, Lagoi Bay. Potentially i think this could be the city of Bintan in years to come. The resort that we are staying Village Resort Grand Lagoi Bintan is very modern. The interior is on contemporary side. It even has a link to a mall- Plaza Lagoi, which recently opened. The mall is super huge and soon enough I think it will be fully occupied. We had a very yummy dinner over at Warong Yeah! just by the Lagoi Beach.

We had a glimpse of the very famous 'The Canopi' resort which we will be our home for the last night here in Bintan. We took a tour to the tent and I think it is one of the smartest idea to have a glamping concept especially if you are looking for a camping experience SANS mosquitoes n warm/humid weather! It is fully air-conditioned inside and best part is you can bathe and shampoo your hair in peace! Ahahahah gone were those camping days in secondary schools! They should have these everywhere!!

We had a great time over at Treasure Bay Bintan trying out some of their water activities. Some went for ATV rides, kayak. We chose to have the bumper boat ride. So fun cruising the the lagoon and see the beautiful blue filtered sea water. Oh yes! Their crystal lagoon is the largest in SEA!! The resort is also very environmentally friendly. There are boats running on solar energy. They also developed a technology as such the lagoon is running on very very low electricity! Good initiative indeed!

They have quite a few of inflatable bouncy castle on the surface of the water for the kids as well as the adults to have fun with! Maybe we will do that on our last day here to let Selma have some water play.

We also visited the largest mosque (Masjid Al Muhajirin) here in Bintan resorts. It is an open concept mosque and had a very classic design to it. Just like those in the kampongs. While we were there, there were a few religious classes going on. It is so heartwarming to see how enthusiastic these kids are in learning their Quran. Such simple lives these kids have but they all looked super contented.

After the mosque tour, we went around the Plaza Lagoi Mall proper. Syarif got a few stuff from the souvenir shop and got Selma a ball to play with at the pool. The mall has a musholla but the wudhuk place is rather disconnected from the mushollah. Either way, u can always use the toilet just beside the mushollah. We then proceed on to Warung Yeah! by the beautiful Lagoi beach. Lagoi beach is a public beach btw and I really think it is even more beautiful. Wow Bintan, you have lotsa surprises for me aye? There is such a cute guardhouse by the beach, inspired by the sailor concept! So we settled in the Warung Yeah! (quite a hipster cafe here) and i tried their ayam micin with seaweed which is so yummy i even forgot to snap a pic of it. We even ordered a second serving of it and still, forget to snap pictures! Was gone within minutes (we were REALLY hungry!) The rest ordered indomie n nasi goreng of different versions! Indomie here is huge guys!

With our full and satisfied stomach, we walked to the Lantern Park beside the cafe. They showed many animal sculptures made with colourful lantern cloth and. Colourful lights, hmm ill let the picture speak for itself! My Favourite was definitely the jellyfish, too pretty! Selma was asleep throughout if not she would have enjoyed the showcase. I guess I'll let her play in the kids club over at the Village Resort Grand Lagoi Bintan again tmr morning or maybe take her for a dip at the rooftop pool! We'll see how!

Goodnight guys! Another long day awaits us tomorrow!
