The Sir Seewoosagur International Airport of Mauritius is the only airport on the island. Managed by the ATOL company (Airport Terminal Operations Limited), the building accommodates up to 4 million passengers yearly. Having a very diversified clientele, the airport offers many services and facilities in order to ensure the well being of its passengers.

Restaurants

The Sir Seewoosagur International Airport of Mauritius is equipped to welcome foreigners in the best possible way. As a great deal of Muslims visit the country all throughout the year, the airport has been renovated in order to meet the expectations of foreign Muslim tourists. Among the many facilities improved, food is one of the main concerns. Most of the restaurants are, however, not Halal, but offer vegetarian as well as vegan options.

Renowned throughout the world, the American franchise can be found at the Airport of Mauritius. Though the menus are not halal, vegetarian options are offered to ensure the well-being of all customers, where they can choose from a wide variety of salads.

The International French baking franchise outlet in the airport offers a broad dessert menu, including vegan and gluten-free products, as well as a varied selection of hot and cold beverages.

Several shopping outlets are present at the Airport, from bookstores to clothing outlets and souvenir shops, your shopping experience is promised to be unforgettable. Local crafts, as well as international brands, can be found in the different stores.

Mauritius Duty-free paradise

The most common stores are the duty-free shops, which offer products at affordable prices. The Mauritius Duty-Free Paradise shops offer a large number of items at affordable prices. Shoppers can browse among clothing items, electronic gadgets as well as cosmetics and accessories. It's basically the one-stop-shop of the airport.

Lounges

With the renovations brought to the airport in 2013, two new lounges have been incorporated within the premises, where passengers can relax while waiting for their flight.

The Nénuphar lounge and the Amédée Maingard lounge offer a number of services to the passengers for a fixed tariff, which can be paid by cash or credit card. Passengers are welcomed into the lounge with Wi-Fi facilities, relaxation areas, as well as a number of local and international newspapers and magazines to keep them busy.

 

Banking Facilities

Banking facilities are provided to travellers from all around the world. With four different bank branches and five currency exchange service providers present on the grounds of the airport, passengers won't have any difficulty in converting their foreign currencies into local ones.
