Husain first came to Jordan with the hopes of being able to afford his daughter’s surgery. Since coming to the country, he and his wife have taken in five orphan children who they now care for alongside their three daughters. UNHCR’s monthly cash assistance program ensures they continue to be provided for, although tough times like this pandemic have increased the strain on refugee households.
