Rabbana dua from The Quran - Surah Al-Imran verses 191-194 Transliteration

Rabbanaa maa khalaqta haaza baatilan Subhaanaka faqinaa ‘azaaban Naar

Our Lord, You did not create this vain. Glory be to you! So protect us from the suffering of the Fire.

Rabbanaaa innaka man tudkhilin Naara faqad akhzai tahoo wa maa lizzaalimeena min ansaar

Our Lord, indeed whoever You commit to the Fire – You have disgraced. The wrongdoers will have no helpers.

Rabbanaaa innanaa sami’naa munaadiyai yunaadee lil eemaani an aaminoo bi Rabbikum fa aamannaa;

Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, ‘Believe in your Lord,’ so we have believed.

Rabbanaa faghfir lanaa zunoobanaa wa kaffir ‘annaa saiyi aatina wa tawaffanaa ma’al abraar

Our Lord, forgive us our sins, and remit our misdeeds, and make us die with the virtuous.

Rabbanaa wa aatinaa maa wa’attanaa ‘alaa Rusulika wa laa tukhzinaa Yawmal Qiyaamah; innaka laa tukhliful mee’aad

Our Lord, and give us what You have promised us through Your messengers, and do not shame us on the Day of Resurrection – You never break a promise.

[Surah Al-Imran, 3:191-194]

Benefits and Why You Should Recite This Dua

As we all know, Allah loves his creations that have a gentle personality, are humble, and who would always remember Him through thick and thin. Therefore, we as humans would also need to have the wisdom that can be taken from the verses, which is to be a gentle and humble individual who prays to and think of Him. This includes doing dhikr in any situation and finding His blessings during the day and night.

By doing so, hopefully, Allah would forgive our sins and misdeeds hereafter. Allah would always fulfill His promises, and therefore we should also always hope for His virtues and forgiveness. By reciting this dua, hopefully, we could gain Allah's blessing, and have us die virtuously by protecting us from the hellfire.
