Surah Al-Imran Verse 8-9 Transliteration

Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana baAAda ith hadaytana wahab lana min ladunka rahmatan innaka anta alwahhabu

Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate from the right path after You have given us guidance, and bestow upon us mercy from Your own. Surely, You, and You alone, are the One who bestows in abundance.

Rabbana innaka jamiAAu alnnasi liyawmin la rayba feehi inna Allaha la yukhlifu almeeAAada

Our Lord, You are going to assemble all the people on a day in (the occurrence of) which there is no doubt. Verily, Allah does not back out of His Promise.

Benefits and Why You Should Recite These Verses

Surah Al-Imran has always been known for its deep meaning and benefits that it carries when being recited. These two verses also carry out multiple great meaning that we should be aware of, as it serves as a reminder for human beings through Allah's guidance and prevent us from straying away from Allah. In this case, the verse tells us that when Allah intends to guide someone, He'll fill someone's heart with His blessings, showing and tilting them towards what is good and righteous. Meanwhile, when He decided to let go of someone from His gifts, that someone would turn away from the straight path.

This shows that Allah is an absolute power. Therefore, once we human beings are straying away from His guidance, rethinking our decisions and praying for Allah's guidance is essential to regaining our devotion to Him and being able to head to the right path. Reciting these verses will hopefully help us remember that it is only through His permission and devotion to Him that we are able to gain His blessings, and therefore live a life filled with all the good things in life.
