Our last day was free since we didn't have any schedule for the day. After breakfast we went to the beach and had our final photos together. Since my flight to Malaysia was at night, me, my husband and Raudha spent our time at Discovery Shopping Mall. We had a massage at one of the streets shops there, where the price was very reasonable. My advice is that you check the price first before going in. Afterwards we packed our things and headed off to the airport at 5:00 p.m. There were so many experiences that me and my husband gained throughout this trip. We were really satisfied with the programme, hotels, food and places that we visited. It was really fun. Thank you HalalTrip for this opportunity! . Click here to view my timeline! ....Read More

We had breakfast at the hotel at 8:00 a.m. in the morning. Loved the potato wedges! We then departed from hotel at around 8:45 a.m. to watch Tarian Barong at the Batubulan Village. Later we went to a batik factory. The batik there was hand-made. The material was of good quality and the prices were reasonable. Then we went to a coffee plantation for coffee and tea tasting. There were 4 "luwak" - also known as civet cats - in cages. It was a good experience and we enjoyed drinking luwak coffee. We also bought souvenirs for family members, including lemongrass tea. We went for lunch at Atas Bukit where you can see the volcano mountain from inside of the restaurant. It was a buffet lunch and the food was ok. After lunch we performed solat at the mushola in the restaurant. The mushola was clean and appeared to be hygienic. Afterwards we went to visit the paddy fields. We took pictures and then went shopping, where we bought a lot of clothes! . Click here to view my timeline! ....Read More

I woke up really early today because I was so excited to go to Bali! Bali is where my husband and I spent our honeymoon last year and now one year later, we got a chance to come here again. Our flight to Bali was at 8:20 a.m. and we checked out from the hotel at 6:00 a.m. in the morning. As the breakfast from the hotel starts at 6:00 a.m. we didn't have time to have our breakfast. However, Noor Hotels management was kind enough to pack our breakfast for us in a box! How sweet of them. I also really enjoyed my stay at Noor Hotels in Bandung and I strongly recommend anyone visiting Bandung to stay there! Finally at 11.30 a.m. we arrived at Denpasar Airport. We were greeted by our tour guide named Wanden who was Balinese. All of us were hungry so Wanden decided to take us for lunch. We stopped by a restaurant named Maliboro. The speciality of this restaurant is that they slow-pressure cook their chicken which makes the chicken very tender. The chicken bones were soft as well! After having lunch, we checked in to our hotel called Bintang Hotel at Kuta. The hotel lobby is an open air concept and the room was spacious and beautiful. Thumbs up! After checking in, we rested for an hour. Later, we went to shop and our first stop was at a shop called Bali-Bali. I didn't buy anything here because I was saving my money for some stuff later. Next we stopped by Polo Ralph Lauren shop because my husband wanted to find some Polo shirts. Surprisingly he didn't buy anything because he said there were no discounts at this place and the prices were similar to Malaysia. He noticed that there were a few designs that weren't available in Malaysia though. After that, we stopped at our last destination called Krishna. This is the place where you can buy cheap souvenirs and they have a lot of items such as fridge magnets, key chains, massage oils and lots of other stuff. The prices are affordable and reasonable so I bought some cool purses with traditional designs of 'anyam tikar'. We then headed back to our hotel for a rest. Well I really enjoyed my first day in Bali. . Click here to view my timeline! ....Read More

From Garut we went to Bandung, which took us about 2 hours and 30 minutes. Our first stop was at Darut Tauhid located near the city of Bandung. A lot of Islamic activities were centred around the area. To my husband and me, it looked like an urban Islamic concept place with business, education and plenty of knowledge on offer. We found this place a very interesting place to go to. We then went to Rumah Mode – a factory outlet place where a lot of rejected branded clothing and bags were sold. In Bandung there are quite a lot of factory outlets and Rumah Mode is a famous factory outlet because it has a one-stop centre compared to other places. It is also bigger, offers a lot of choices and has more facilities such as reflexology, toilets, cafes, musolla, etc. After we went to Rumah Mode, we went to see the Udjo Angklung place for its unique traditional Indonesian musical instruments. We learnt to play Angklung with the instruments itself and we were entertained by the students performance. It was a really unique experience! My husband was called to the stage to dance along too. From there, we continued shopping at Jalan Riau. The road consisted of quite a number of factory outlets. I went to the Hijabstory boutique and the clothing there are soo beautiful! We then checked in at Noor Hotel, just nearby. It was one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever seen. . Click here to view my timeline! ....Read More

We had a long day today since we were travelling by car from Jakarta to Garut. Along the way we made several stops. The first stop was at Asstro which was short for Asem Strawberry. It had a very nice view with great places to eat; the view of the paddy field is rarely seen in the city. My husband and I really enjoyed having lunch here as they served delicious food with privacy for each guest. We then stopped at Pondok Pesantren Suryalaya. This place caters to people who want to get closer to Allah S.W.T. There were students who used to be drug abusers but after staying at Pesantren for quite some time (around 40 days or more, depends) they managed to get rid of their addiction. After we went to Pesantren, we went to a lake named Situ Lengkong Panjalu. Over there we took some pictures by the lake and we strolled around the shop. This place was one of the earliest places where Islam started to spread. From there we went to Garut and had take-away for dinner. Garut is a place where an active volcano is located. Hot springs are very popular here. The weather is also nice and it is cold at night. Basically today's trip was mostly spent in the car since travelling from one place to another took some time (3-4 hours each). However my husband and I did enjoy today's trip and we can't wait for tomorrow! . Click here to view my timeline! ....Read More

We started our day at Taman Mini Indah Indonesia. It is great for a cultural experience and provides a lot of information about Indonesia's various ethnicities, almost all that have been recognised. This place has it all for those who want to learn more about Indonesia! I personally love the culture of Minang and Jawa Tengah. Minang attracts me with its beautiful art and decorations on houses – same with Jawa Tengah At Taman Mini we also rode a cable car and it was really interesting to see all the houses and places from a different angle. Afterwards we went to the Istiqlal Mosque to perform our Dzhur and Asar (Jamak) prayer. It was indeed a very huge masjid. It also had an Islamic school inside. Can you imagine how big it is? Once we had our lunch, we went to Monas (short form for Monument Nasional). Monas is a pride to all Indonesians. There were a few food courts around the location for people to stroll around. Taking a walk at Monas is a great way to take few pictures and grab some delicious Indonesian delicacies. The food court seems quite new and clean. We then went out for shopping at Grand Indonesia. It is so big! This has been my favourite place whenever I went to Jakarta. Why? In addition to an abundance of great groceries located at the ground floor (food hall), it is also home to one of the best things in Indonesia – Magnum Cafe! Apart from the scrumptious ice cream desserts, be sure to try their carbonara and salmon. Both are simply too good to be true. To round off our day, we went to another shopping mall called Thamrin City before dinner. It is an excellent place to buy some souvenirs and batiks; more Indonesian fashion items can be found here in comparison to Grand Indonesia which has a more international appeal. I enjoyed both malls since they are both different in my opinion. I will definitely come again to shop! . Click here to view my timeline! ....Read More
