The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Range is also known as Mount Yulong and Mount Satseto and is located in Lijiang city of southwestern China. The height of its highest peak - Shanzidou - is at an elevation of nearly 6000 metres and has been climbed only once in 1987 by an American expedition. Being home to wide variety of animal and plant species, the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is also a fantastic spot for observing some of the rare flora and fauna of the region. Its breathtaking views will delight all nature lovers as well as photography enthusiasts, with the region being noted for offering some of the best natural scenery in the China. A part of it has been declared a AAAAA-classified scenic area and a visit is highly-recommended for travellers who like the outdoors.

Though private designated prayer facilities at Jade Dragon Snow Mountain will be unavailable for Muslim travellers, plenty of open space will be available in the vicinity to make use of during prayer times.  Muslim travellers may also visit the only mosque of the city – the Lijiang Great Mosque - located at the Old Town of Lijiang.
