Like many of the beaches on Sri Lanka's southern coast, the beaches of Galle are considered to be some of the best beaches in the country and are frequented by tourists and locals throughout the year. The coastline of Galle features stunning rocky outcrops and stretches of pristine sandy shores, creating the perfect atmosphere for beach lovers to simply sit back and relax. Several luxury resorts are located in close proximity to the beach due to its popularity as an attraction and numerous shops and stalls in the area also offer plenty of shopping opportunities. Certain areas of the beach also offer water sport activities such as surfing and diving, providing plenty to do.

Plenty of private space will be available around the beach area to use during prayer times for Muslim travellers who require prayer facilities at the Galle Beach. Those who wish to go to a mosque may visit the Meera Mosque which is located within the Galle Fort. Other mosques in Galle include Ya Hussain Masjid, Shekh Yusuf Sahib Valiyullah Mosque and the Baddare Mosque.
Finding Halal food near the Galle Beach will not be difficult. There are a few Halal restaurants at Galle Fort where Muslim travellers will be able to find Halal food. A couple of popular spots include the Crêpe-ology Restaurant and the Indian Hut which are both located within the fort premises.
