Located in the heart of Hamilton's cultural precinct, Waikato Museum is a prominent award-winning regional museum and a popular attraction in Hamilton. The museum was established in 1987 and comprises several sections including an art gallery, an interactive science gallery, Maori treasure gallery, a Hamilton history exhibition as well as a Waikato River exhibition. Some of the highlight exhibits at Waikato Museum include the war canoe that dates back over 200 years as well as Exscite and Planet Warriors. Several special interactive science galleries are also available for children, ensuring an enjoyable visit for the entire family!
