Barcelona’s Magic Fountain is not only one of the most famous fountains in the city but is also the largest. Considered to be the first synchronized water, music and light shows in the world, the fountain is a spectacular display of light, colour and sound that accompanies the acrobatic water movement. The moving jets of water are illuminated in an array of colours, creating a magical show that is a must-see, when in the city of Barcelona. This popular landmark is truly a magical sight and is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the city. The Magic Fountain of Montjuic is open to everyone and is also free of charge. With shows every half an hour, in the evenings, lasting around 15 minutes, visitors can surely spare a few minutes to enjoy this spectacular show. Those planning on visiting should however check on its schedule before the visit, as show times tend to change during the different seasons.

Muslim tourists will not find prayer facilities at the Magic Fountain of Montjuic, they will however find many mosques and Islamic centers in the city of Barcelona. The city is known to house a number of mosques, as well as numerous prayer rooms, that are spread across the city. Those requiring prayer facilities could inquire at the hotel they are staying at, Halal restaurants, and Muslim businesses, or ask the locals for directions to nearby prayer facilities.

Halal Food

Barcelona is home to a sizeable Muslim population; Muslim tourists will therefore be able to locate some good Halal food outlets in the city. Although there are a number of food stalls in the area, they may not find any Halal outlets in the vicinity of the Magic Fountain. They will however find some fantastic restaurants in the city serving a range of cuisines such as Moroccan, Indian, Pakistani, Turkish and more.
