Visiting the famous Bilbao Park when in San Diego is an absolute must. The park has more than 85 cultural and recreational facilities, making it one of the most popular sites in San Diego amongst locals and tourists alike. It is home to the world-famous San Diego Zoo, beautiful gardens, 15 museums, performing arts venues, historical buildings and numerous recreation and play areas. Some of Balboa Park’s highlights include the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Museum of Art, the Museum of Man, the Museum of Natural History and the Botanical Gardens. The 1400 acre site therefore truly has something for everyone. Because the park is so large, getting around it on foot is not easy. There is however a free tram that visitors can ride to visit the different attractions found in the massive complex.

Muslims visiting the park will not be able to find prayer facilities within its premises, but they will be able to find a clean and quiet area in the park to offer their prayers. Finding a mosque or Islamic Center in San Diego will not be a problem at all. The Islamic Center of San Diego, Masjid Al-Ribat Al-Islami, Masjid Omar and Masjid an-Nur are a few of the many mosques in San Diego

Halal Food

There are numerous cafés and eateries located throughout Bilbao Park. Visitors will be able to find a place to dine at no matter where in the complex they are. While these establishments will not be Halal certified, Muslims visiting the park should be able to find a café serving a good selection of suitable vegetarian and seafood dishes.
