Sharm El Sheikh offers something for everyone. The city features several beaches that are good for enjoying water sports and also relaxing. Sharm El Sheikh is also located close to the Mount Sinai, which hold religious importance and to the Ras Muhammad Natural Park, which is known for its coral reefs. Around the city there are numerous historic buildings, markets and sites that are good to visit.
The old town of Sharm El Sheikh is good to visit and for exploring the ancient heritage and culture of the area. The city is surrounded by sprawling deserts and visitors can enjoy a desert safari which is altogether a different experience. Sharm El Sheikh has some good diving sites including the reefs of Ras Mohammed and Tiran. The area around the Na’ama Bay is modern and this is where most of cafes and restaurants are located. The area around Sharmal Maya is the Old Town and here visitors can get a peek into the ancient SharmEl Sheikh and the old market.
SharmEl Sheikh offers good shopping opportunities. There are several shops all aroundthe city selling traditional Egyptian souvenirs. Most of the shops are located around the area of Na’ama Bay. The Old Market is also a good place to get deals on traditional items.

The Sharm El Sheikh Airport serves the city; the airport caters to charter flights and the domestic carrier EgyptAir. The airport is located about 18 Km from the city center. Visitors can take taxis and buses from the airport to any part of the city. It ideally takes 15 minutes from the airport to reach the city center.
