Kyoto is a city in Japan that attracts many visitors. Known for its beautiful ancient feel and world heritage sites, Kyoto is a place that should be visited to discover the real Japan. The small teahouses in the narrow alleys of Gion give visitors a peek into what would it have been during the ancient times. The Ryoanji's Zen rock gardens give people time to relax and imbibe the serenity that lingers around.

The gardens around the Imperial Palace are wonderful to enjoy the beauty of nature. There are numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kyoto that travellers would love to visit. All regions in Kyoto offers you a variety of attractions. In Central Kyoto, the Nijo Castle is a beautiful piece of architecture. The Higashiyama District in Eastern Kyoto preserves the history of the area well and also offers some great shopping opportunities. The Shugakuin Imperial Villa in Northern Kyoto is another pretty work of architecture that attracts visitors all year round. 

When it comes to shopping, Kyoto offers a plethora of options. There are several shops around the Arashiyama station that offer traditional items and souvenirs. The Teramachi Street is also a good place to shop. There are several shopping areas around the Kiyomizudera area that offer traditional items and clothing. There are also some good shops around the Shijo-Kawaramachi intersection and Kyoto Station.

Halal Restaurants

There are a few places that serve Halal food, including the muslim-owned Ajanta restaurant that serves South Asian cuisine using only Halal meat. But take note that this restaurant also serves alcohol. You can also find Halal ramen restaurants - Ayam-ya and Naritaya Gion to name a few. 

Mosques

There are a few mosques in Kyoto which you can visit - the Kyoto Masjid located at the Islam Culture Center is among the well-known ones.
