Rabat, the modern capital of Morocco is a beautiful city with wide boulevards and several beautiful buildings and gardens. Though the capital, Rabat offers a serene and quiet ambiance. The city is also home to the King of Morocco who resides in the Royal Palace surrounded by beautiful gardens. The medina or the old city is quiet and beautiful. It is definitely worth visiting. Rabat offers a number of recreational activities; it has a world-renowned golf course the Dar Es Salaam golf Course.

There are some wonderful museums in the city; the National Archaeological Museum has an explicit collection of bronze artifacts dating from the Roman era. The other good museums to visit in the city are the Museum of Contemporary Art, Bank Al Maghrib Museum and the Galeried'ArtNouiga. The Kasbah of the Oudayas is the old citadel that gives visitors a peek into the history of the area.

There are a number of places to shop in Rabat. The Rue des Consuls is a great place to walk around and shop; it is the main shopping district in the city. The Mega Mall features a wide range of shops. Agdal also has a number of shops. The medina has some great souks like the Souk as Sabbat, the rue Souika has several hawkers selling local handicrafts and other items.

Rabat is served by the Rabat International Airport; the airport is located in the adjoining town of Sale. The airport caters to domestic and international flights. From the airport visitors can take taxis or buses to reach Rabat.
