Essaouira is a beautiful city, a perfect example of an 18th century walled city. In the old city of Essaouira the original cannons can still be seen. The beach in the city is the prime attraction of the city. The beach is excellent for kite-boarding and wind surfing. Essaouira is an excellent destination for watersports. Some of the best places to enjoy water sports in Essaouira include the Essaouira Bay, Cape Sim, SidiKaouki, and MouleyBouzertoune.

The Medina or the old walled city is quite attractive and is best seen on foot. Visitors can enjoy boat trips and also walking tours of the city and the surrounding villages. The Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdullah Museum has a beautiful collection of costumes, jewelry and weaponry. A side trip to the Village of Diabat about 3Km from the old city is highly recommended.

Essaouirais known for its woodwork and lacquerware. There are several interesting souvenirs that visitors can buy in the city. There are several souks located along theAvenue de l’Istiqual and Avenue Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah.

Essaouira is served by the Mogador Airport, which caters to domestic and international flights. The airport is located about 15 Km from the city center. Airport shuttle and taxis are easily available from the airport to the city.
