Visiting the Genting Highlands is once in a lifetime experience. Even for Muslim travellers, the area is good to visit. The Genting Highlands offers a variety of opportunities for people of all ages to have fun. There are numerous indoor and outdoor theme parks and shopping outlets where visitors can have fun. There are several natural attractions around Genting Highlands that can be clubbed during a visit to the area.
The First World Plaza is an indoor theme park with six different themes. The Genting Outdoor Theme Park is another wonderful place for the entire family to have fun. The Genting International Convention Centre hosts several events and entertainment concerts. Almost all the places in Genting Highlands are connected by covered walkways and escalators making it easier for people to reach places conveniently.
The First World Plaza is the best place to shop in Genting Highlands. It is not the biggest shopping mall but definitely an excellent place to souvenirs and some wonderful items. There are several brands and labels that find place in the First World Plaza.

Nearby Airports

The nearest airport to Genting Highlands is the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The airport is about 40 minutes away from Genting Highlands. There were direct buses available from the airport to the resort that has now stopped functioning. The best way to get to Genting Highlands is getting to KL Sentral by train and then further by bus. The entire trip can take around 1-2 hours. For whom money is not an issue they can charter helicopters to Genting Highlands, which takes about half an hour.

Halal Restaurants

To cater the needs of Muslim visitors there are several halal restaurants in Genting Highlands. At these places one can relish various tandoori items and other Malay delicacies. Some of the halal restaurants in Genting Highlands include First World Café. Several fast food chains such as McDonald's, KFC, Burger Kingand Marrybrown also claim to serve halal food.

Mosques

There is only one mosque in Genting Highlands, the Yayasan Mohammad Noah Mosque. There is another mosque in the surrounding, the Masjid Qariah.
