Legian is a small beachfront town located north of Kuta. Comparatively quiet and an excellent destination for families, Legian is a great place for families to relax and have fun. The main attraction of Legian is the Legian Beach. The most loved section of the Legian Beach is the Padma Beach. This section of the beach is less crowded and has better surf breaks.
The other section towards Seminyak is the Double Six Beach. However this section of the beach is dotted with clubs and restaurants. The Legian Beach allows people to enjoy a wide range of water sports like diving, surfing, etc.
Legian is filled with several shops that offer a wide range of shopping opportunities. Whether it is beach wear, party wear or simple local clothing, visitors can find several things to buy. Visitors can find numerous shops along the Jalan Melasti, Jalan Werkudara, Jalan Padmaand Jalan Arjuna. Jalan Padma has numerous shops selling handcrafted beads and shell jewelry. Jalan Arjuna has numerous shops selling fabrics and beach wear. Jalan Legian also has some great shops especially high-end shops and boutiques.
The nearest airport to Legian is the Ngurah Rai International Airport. The airport is around 20 minutes from Legian. Taxis are available from the airport to the town and costs around Rp 70,000. There is no public transportation available from the airport to the town.
