Located 6 kilometres north of the city of Paphos; in the Peyia municipality, is the popular and lively seaside town of Coral Bay. This bustling town is only a 15 minute drive from Paphos and is home to a number of hotels and restaurants located close to the most beautiful sandy beaches in Cyrpus. Coral Bay is quite easily accessible and is rapidly becoming one of Cyprus’s major tourist attractions. Getting from Paphos to Coral bay is quite easy, and the ride through beautiful banana plantations is sure to leave visitors enchanted. It is a great family vacation destination; offering activities and attractions for the young and the old. Even though the seaside town does not offer historical attractions like Paphos does, Coral Bay truly is the perfect holiday spot.  However, Muslims visiting Coral Bay will not find it easy to locate Halal-friendly facilities.

Coral Bay beach is said to be one of the finest beaches on the island. The calm shallow waters and wide sandy beaches of Coral Bay draw in numerous tourists from all around the world. Set in a natural bay protected by two headlands; this beach is ideal for those looking for some fun in the sun as well as for those looking to get in a bit of relaxation. The beach is ideal for kids as well as adults. Water activities that tourists have the opportunity of participating in include; water skiing, windsurfing, swimming, diving and parascending.

When in Coral Bay, visitors must try their hand at diving. There are several diving sites in the area; some meant for beginners and others are meant for more experienced divers. For those with less experience, enrolling at one of the numerous diving schools on the island is a must. Popular diving sites of Coral Bay include Maninji Island; known for its cliffs, coral and caves is said to be one of the most breathtaking diving sites on the south coast, and Akamas Peninsula; which is inhabited by greenback turtles during the summer and is also perfect for those looking to cycle, swim, and walk.

For those looking for a quieter beach, Cape Lara is a must-visit. This is the nesting site for Green and Loggerhead sea turtles. The area is truly fascinating and will keep the entire family occupied. Coral Bay also offers go-karting opportunities for those with kids, as well as a kid’s playground and a games center. A visit to the one of a kind Paphos Bird and Animal Park, located in nearby Paphos, is also a must. The park is home to a large variety of birds and animals and will prove to be a fun day out for the entire family.

There are several hotels that tourists can stay at as well as restaurants to dine at and shops that can be explored, in Coral Bay. If tourists run out of things to do in Coral Bay, which is highly doubtful, they can venture out and visit the many attractions in the nearby city of Paphos; which is known for the numerous historical sites it is home to as well as to mosaics dating back 2,000 years and so much more.

Nearby Airports

The nearest airport to Coral Bay is Paphos International Airport, located in the city of Paphos.  It is the second largest airport in Cyprus, and the main airport that provides access to Coral Bay. There are buses that run regularly from Kato Paphos to Coral Bay that tourists can make use of.

Halal Restaurants

There are no known Halal restaurants in Coral Bay. However, because Paphos is located close by, traveling to the city for Halal food won’t be much of a hassle. Once in Paphos, it is best for Muslim visitors to ask the locals for the location of the nearest Halal restaurant, or inquires at the mosque can also be made. Muslim tourists can also dine on seafood and vegetarian dishes at the local non-Halal restaurants, after ensuring that the food served does not consist of any non-Halal item. 

Mosques

There are no known mosques or Islamic Centers in Coral Bay. Muslim tourists can however make use of the Lower Paphos masjid, in Kato Paphos, since it is just a 15 minute drive to Paphos town. Muslim tourists are also advised to pray in their hotel rooms before setting out on any excursion, if possible.
