Located in South Yorkshire, England is the largely industrial city of Sheffield. Sheffield is known to be one of the largest cities in the United Kingdom and is located within the valleys of the River Don. It is home to numerous natural areas and parks, fountains, historical sites and buildings, shopping malls, public spaces and squares, and is dotted with museums. This industrial and cultural centre is also known for having quite a large number of green areas for the public. The city is built on and in-between seven hills and therefore offers tourists spectacularly unique views. Sheffield has a diverse population, and therefore Muslim visitors will definitely be able to locate Muslim-friendly facilities like Halal food and prayer areas in Sheffield.

There are numerous attractions in Sheffield which draw in visitors from all over the world. One such attraction is the Sheffield Legends, which is a Walk of Fame that honours famous people from or connected to the city. Located just outside the Town Hall, those visiting the attraction will find plaques with the names of famous people, just like the walkway in Hollywood.

A stroll through the fabulous walkway of the award winning public space – The Peace Gardens, is also a must. Located along Pinestone Street, in front of the prominent Town Hall, this inner city square is home to spectacular water features, numerous memorials, public art displays, other historical features and so much more. It is also situated close to the Winter Garden as well as the Millennium Galleries.

Another must-visit is the Sheffield Botanical Gardens. Covering about 19 acres, the area is home to 15 different garden areas which are home to plants that were brought in from all over the world. The Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre is one of the best places in Sheffield to take kids. Here, visitors will find a plethora of beautiful and exotic butterflies on show. The centre also houses meerkats, rabbits, chipmunks, a spectacular variety of birds of prey, barn animals, ring-tailed and red ruffed lemurs and numerous other animals and birds. The nearest airport to Sheffield is Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield, which is located about 29 kilometres away. There are also a couple of other airports located approximately an hour away, namely Leeds Bradford International Airport and East Midlands Airport. There is also a train that connects Manchester Airport to Sheffield.
