The Arumeru District itself is divided in to thirty seven other smaller wards - including Nkoanrua. Nkoanrua is a fairly populated region home to over 14,000 inhabitants. It is located around 330 kilometres towards the north of Dar es Salaam - which is the capital city of Tanzania. The closest airport to Nkoanrua is the Kilimanjaro International Airport which is located about 35 kilometres away. Though prominent Halal restaurants in Nkoanrua are not known, Halal food will be available in the area due to the sizable resident Muslim population.
