Jbeil also known as Byblos is an ancient city in Lebanon. Rated among the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Jbeil is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Roughly established around the end of the 6th millennium BC, Jbeil has been ruled by several civilizations and has been quite an important destination. Jbeil is located about 35km from Beirut and is one of the must-visit sites in Lebanon. The modern day Jbeil is a port city and has been erected over thousands of years of culture and heritage. There are a number of Muslim-friendly facilities in Jbeil making it a good place to spend a holiday. There are a number of attractions around Jbeil and also a lot to learn about the history of the area.

The Byblos Castle or the Crusader Castle is one of the prime attractions in the city. The castle dates back o the 12th century and is an absolute must-see. There are also a number of museums in Jbeil that give visitors a peek into the history and heritage of the area. Some good museums to visit in Jbeil are the Byblos Wax Museum and the Byblos Fossil Museum. Visitors must also make it a point to explore the Old City area and its historic architecture.
