Petaling Jaya is a detailed planned town, the first of its kind in Malaysia. The town is well-connected to Kuala Lumpur and is a satellite town of the capital just 58 Km away. The best way to see the town is to drive around and check out the meticulously laid out residential and commercial sections. The city is well-marked and finding the attraction is quite easy.
The entry to the city is marked by the Kota DarulEhsanArch; it is a beautiful marble arch that is best seen at night when it is beautifully lit. The MBPJ Tower is the main landmark of the city and the seat of the Petaling Jaya City Council. The building has been constructed uniquely and is surrounded by commercial areas and several shops. The Gasing Hill is a beautiful nature reserve in the area that spans over 100 acres. The Kelana Jaya Lake Park has seven lakes surrounded by lush lawns and gardens.
There are numerous night markets in Petaling Jaya where visitors can enjoy shopping. Shopping in the night markets of Petaling Jaya is one of the best ways to enjoy the Malaysian culture. There are also modern malls in the city where visitors can find a variety of brands. The best shopping malls in Petaling Jaya include Amcorp Mall, Jaya Shopping Center, Giant Kelana Jaya,Digital Mall, Millennium Square, The Atria and The Curve.

The closest airport to Petaling Jaya is the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The airport is about 58 Km from Petaling Jaya and can be accessed by taxi, train and bus. From Kuala Lumpur International Airport visitors can reach the KH Sentral Station. From the station buses can be taken to Petaling Jaya. Shuttle buses are available from KL Sentral Station for a fare of RM 9 for a one-way trip.
