Semboku is a beautiful city nestled in the mountains of Akita Prefecture in Japan. It is home to breathtaking landscapes and stunning natural scenery - ranging from lakes to hot springs to mountains - and will be paradise for any nature enthusiast.

The city is divided into three main regions - the Tazawako region, the Kakunodate region and the Nishiki region. Tazawako boasts numerous hot springs and other well-known attractions such as Lake Tazawa, Dakigaeri Gorge and the Tazawako Ski Area - which are all must-visits when travelling in the area. Kakunodate is a small historic town that offers travellers a rich cultural experience with its Samurai House district and traditional festivals that are celebrated throughout the year. It is also an excellent cherry blossom spot and is host to the cherry blossom festival each year. Nishiki is an expansive village located between Kakunodate and Tazawako, home to both festivals and natural beauty - including spectacular mountain scenery.

The city's hot springs are one of its top attractions and can be visited during the seasons of spring to fall. Each hot spring offers a uniquely relaxing experience with magnificent views of the surrounding environs. Though it will be difficult to find Halal food and Halal restaurants in Semboku, Muslim travellers could enquire for vegetarian items while travelling in the area.
