Take a break from civilization! Journey to Pagang Island and Pasumpahan Island where the majestic landscape is all there is as far as the eye can see! Although, there aren’t any restaurants or stalls on the island so don’t forget to bring your own lunches. If you are interested in the local flora and fauna, visit Taman Hutan Raya Bung Hatta! This nature reserve has 352 species of plants and 170 species of animals that are protected on-site which visitors can find in the park. 

As a tribute to the Minangkabau tribe’s culture, Museum Adityawarman and the Pagaruyung Palace which were built with iconic Minang architecture portray various historical artifacts and antique traditional garments within the buildings themselves. These two iconic sites are majesties worth visiting upon your travel to Padang!

The Minangkabau International Airport rests 23 km away from Padang. Taxis and buses are available from the airport itself. Taxis will cost from Rp 80,000 to Rp 100,000, while buses typically cost Rp 22,000 per passenger. The trip from the airport should last no longer than one hour.
