It is therefore, no surprise that the city houses the best of everything, from hotels, to attractions, to shopping spots, and yes, even cafés! Dubai’s café scene is booming, and it seems like there is some new café or other that opens up around the corner almost every day.

While Dubai’s culinary scene tends to be more towards the higher end, its coffee culture is moving towards the direction of cute, casual and trendy. With minimalistic, Instagrammable cafés popping up all over the city, we hit the streets to discover some of the top trendy cafés in Dubai that are taking its coffee scene by storm.

1. Tom & Serg

The first thing we wanted to do when we walked into Tom & Serg was to whip out our phones for a bit of an Instagram session! Located in the heart of Al-Qouz in a warehouse-like space, this Melbourne-inspired, hipster café has definitely changed the way we see coffee.

The interior here is charming and industrial: the menu written in chalkboard, the atmosphere warm and comfy. Gourmet dishes are made from the nutritious and fresh ingredients, and the coffee here deserves a special shout out! It’s simple, and served at the perfect temperature - just the way we like our coffee fix!

2. The Hamptons Cafe

Plucked right out of New York’s exclusive getaway, the Hamptons, and dropped onto Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach Road, the stylish Hamptons Café is just as chic and elegant as its namesake. Its home-like interior is decked out in white and navy, providing a soothing vibe, and that combined with its posh menu, offer diners a splendid balance.

Serving up dishes like perfectly poached Eggs Benedict and Montauk Eggs to delicious, hand battered Buttermilk Chicken and Duck Confit, the Hamptons Café is dedicated to using the freshest of ingredients and offers diners a memorable experience. We recommend heading here in the evening, because who wouldn't enjoy a steaming cup of coffee while watching the sunset?

On our quest to discover the best Halal cafes in Dubai known for their trendiness, we stumbled upon the Society Café & Lounge. The glasshouse-style café boasts an ultra-modern, yet casual interior, and its menu features gourmet favourites for breakfast, lunch and dinner - from acai bowls, to halloumi fries, to mushroom croquettes and chargrilled angus flank steak, in addition to a selection of delicious pastries and desserts that you won’t be able to say no to.

By now you must know that we’re really into Instagrammable places, and the Society Café & Lounge is the absolute perfect spot to take those pictures your Instagram is desperate for!

4. The Sum of Us

As a gourmet café, coffee roastery and bakery, the Sum of Us is a hip, trend-setting spot in Dubai’s Trade Centre that's been creating a buzz! Brought to you by the Tom & Serg duo, this modern, factory warehouse-like café not only has delicious food, but where else in the city will you be able to consult with experts on the latest types of exotic, top-quality coffee beans available and get recommendations to suit your mood? From the café's lovely artisan interior with equipment built in Greece, to wholesome and honest dishes made from locally sourced produce, the Sum of Us gets two thumbs up from us!

5. Harper’s Bazaar Cafe

Finding its inspiration from the renowned iconic fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar, the Harper’s Bazaar Café is the first of its kind. Located in one of Dubai’s most trendy areas - the Dubai Design District, the sophisticated designer café is the place to see and be seen, well-known amongst Dubai’s top social media influencers, so don’t be surprised if you spot one of your favourite Instagrammers there! The café's timeless, laid-back character, paired with the exotic fare offered on its extensive menu, had us planning our next visit there before we were even done.

6. Common Grounds

Common Grounds, located in the heart of the world renowned Mall of the Emirates, is another of Dubai’s best cafés - from the guys behind Tom & Serg. After seeing plenty of their picture-perfect dishes popping up on our Instagram, we decided to check out the café, and boy, were we glad we did! An oasis for tired shoppers, Common Grounds not only serves a variety of flavourful coffees, but also has an impressive, wholesome and nutritious menu. The café itself, with its white tiles, wooden panels and accentuated with pops of green, is aesthetically so pleasing, we found ourselves thinking that every part of it deserved to be part of our Instagram feeds!

7. Roseleaf Café

Boasting a mouth-watering Australasian café menu, and a cosy and cute interior, the Roseleaf Café can be found inside the Dubai Garden Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road. A popular spot amongst Dubai’s true lovers of good food and good coffee, the Roseleaf Café’s rustic feel and garden like setting is the ideal place for a get-together and equally as perfect for a day out by yourself.

In fact, we couldn’t think of a better place to have a relaxing Sunday breakfast with friends and family, than the Roseleaf Café! We enjoyed everything we ordered, from the salmon bagel and superfood salad, to the organic acai bowl. The fact that every now and then we got a whiff of the plants surrounding the café - that just completed our experience and took it to another level.
