The Durian is a one-of-a-kind tropical fruit. It is well-known in Southeast Asia for being a highly nutritious and delicious fruit. Durian is nutrient-dense, with more nutrients than other fruits. But, Durian is known for its rather pungent odor that seems to scare most away.

The Durian’s spiky, rigid outer shell distinguishes it as tropical fruit. Durio zibethinus is the most common type, but there are several other kinds to choose from.

The color of the flesh inside the fruit can vary. It is usually yellow or white. Although in some regions, it can be red or green as well. Durian grows in tropical places. Countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand in Southeast Asia are the most common Durian hotspots.

The edible pulp of a regular Durian fruit weighs roughly 2 cups (486 grams).
