Been dreaming of traveling to Japan? This country is one of the hottest travel destinations lately, and for good reasons. Perhaps some people might think that adventures to Japan on their own might be difficult with regard to language, food, directions, or getting confused about how to find mosques and prayer places nearby. In fact, it’s not so difficult to navigate anymore, with access to the internet and Japan Map. Never doubt how to find mosques and prayer places near you in Tokyo, because they can be found easily. What comes to your mind when you think of Mosques in Tokyo, Japan, with Turkish architecture? Would you believe that there's a Tokyo Mosque known as Tokyo Camii or Tokyo Jama Masjid, located in the Oyama-cho district of Shibuya ward in Tokyo with an adjoining Turkish Culture Center made by Turks? Yes, this mosque's ornamentation was based on Ottoman religious architecture, and it was completed in 2000. It’s 734 square meters in area, with the main dome being 23 meters tall, supported by six pillars. This mosque is Tokyo's largest mosque, and also the biggest in all of Japan.

So, how do you get to Tokyo Camii? It's located just a few stops away from the bustling Shinjuku Station. So, if you're searching for a Mosque in Shinjuku, the best answer is Tokyo Camii. Just alight at Yoyogi-Uehera, walk for about 5 minutes and you’ll see the marble Turkish architecture slowly starting to emerge.

Have you heard about Otsuka Masjid Toshima? Otsuka Masjid Toshima is the most famously unique mosque in Japan. It's located in the center of Tokyo and just one stop away from Ikebukuro Station. The unique side of this Mosque is that it actively serves as the center for Muslim activities such as seminars, Islamic lectures and Arabic language classes. You can go there with your family to encourage them to go to the mosque because Islam wants Muslims to get together in a congregation, get to know one another better, and build up a rapport.

Asakusa Mosque (Darul Arqam Mosque)

If you're in Asakusa and you want to pray, there’s Asakusa Mosque, also known as Darul Arqam Mosque in there. It is located 13 minutes away from Senso-ji temple or 20 minutes walk from Tokyo Skytree. Asakusa Mosque is also near from Asakusa Station on The Ginza Line and Minami Senju Station on JR Loban Line and Hibiya Line. Most tourists looking to pray in Asakusa will visit this Mosque.

If you haven't visited Ohanajaya Area, let’s visit Ohanajaya Park, then! What’s Ohanajaya like? You can see so many residents here and parks, and it's highly accessible to the rest of the city with plenty of shopping locations. FYI, “Ohanajaya” or “Ohana Chaya’ means “flower tea house”. It's just 15 minutes away from Nippori Station, or 20 minutes from Ueno. In Ohana, you can find Ohana Chaya Masjid, also known as Makki Masjid, a 7-minute walk from Ohanajaya Station.

As-Salaam Mosque, Okachimachi

Do you like visiting museums? There are some museums in Okachimachi, such as Shitamachi Museum and Quark Museum. The Okachimachi Mosque is located in Taito, and this makes it easier for visiting during your travel in Tokyo, just 7 minutes away from the Okachimachi Station on the Yamanote Line.

Just leave Shibuya Station by the Hachiko exit then, cross the crossroad in the direction of 109 stores so you can find Noa Dogenzaka or Shibuya Prayer Room.

Prayer Room Harajuku: JR East

As the center of Japanese youth culture, the unique fashion boutiques in Harajuku take center stage, filled with shopping & dining options. This area also encompasses many backstreets such as Takeshita Street and Cat Street spreading from Sendagaya. If you want to find Prayer Room Harajuku or Prayer Room Tokyo Station then JR east Prayer Room is the best choice. This prayer room was opened in June 2017, and is the first such room at a JR East railway station, though there are some available at airports and hotels in the Kanto region. Sounds great, huh?
