Description

The Puerto Princesa Underground River is a protected area that is located in Palawan and has become a popular attraction for tourists visiting the city. The cave is full of stalactites and stalagmites with a 360 metre cave room known as the Italian’s Chamber. The Puerto Princesa Underground River is also a UNESCO heritage site and is considered as a natural wonder. The 8.2 kilometre river is said to be one of the longest subterranean rivers in the world. This underground river flows through St. Paul’s Underground River Cave and then out to the South China Sea. The journey through the underground cave is 24 kilometres. The entrance to the cave is a beautiful lagoon where animals like monkeys can be seen too. There are diverse forest formations as well as several species of animals that consider the nature park as home.
