Parc Borély, one of Frances most notable gardens is Marseille’s favorite park and is a wonderful place to enjoy a pleasant morning stroll, a picnic with the family or to just take in the breathtaking Mediterranean sunset. Spread across an area of 42 acres near the sea, the park houses the beautiful Chateau Borély, the E.M Heckel Botanic Gardens and even has a lake and a race course within its property. Those wanting to enjoy some fresh air and a day away from the indoor attractions of Marseille should definitely pay the park a visit. It is a wonderful place to go with the family as it has plenty of fun activities for the entire family. Some of the activities that can be fun for both; children and adults include, go-carting, racing model boats, feeding the ducks and swans in the lake, taking a boat ride and cycling or walking around the many trails in the park, while smaller kids may enjoy visiting the playground or a ride on the carousel.

Parc Borély may not offer prayer facilities for Muslim visitors, but there is plenty of open space which can be used for prayers. Muslim tourists will also be able to locate mosques in Marseille quite easily, as the city is known to have a number of masjids that a frequented by its residents and tourists. Muslims visiting Marseille can therefore always ask the locals to direct them to the closest mosque, when necessary.  

Halal Food

Although finding Halal food in Parc Borély may not be possible, the park is the ideal place for a picnic, so Muslim tourists could take along some snacks. Also, since there are numerous Halal restaurants in Marseille, Muslim visitors can ask for the location of a Halal restaurant closest to Parc Borély, if needed.
