New York’s most iconic monument, the Statue of Liberty is a must-visit attraction when in the city. Towering over 151 feet, this massive copper statue stands on a pedestal on an island at the entrance of the New York Harbor. Recognized as a symbol of universal freedom and democracy, the Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to the United States of America in 1886. To visit the towering monument visitors will have to take a ferry to Liberty Island and the ferry ticket includes a self guided audio tour, which can be picked up while on the island. Park rangers provide free guided tours as well, covering the general history of the island and its world famous statue. Tourists will be able to enjoy spectacular views of Ellis Island, New York Harbor and more from the pedestal, however access to the pedestal and the crown is limited and requires reservation and has to be obtained prior to boarding the ferry. Tourists who have the pedestal ticket or the crown ticket can also visit the Liberty Island Museum. Liberty State Park and Battery Park are the two boarding ports for those visiting the Statue of Liberty.

Ticket Price

Ticket price will depend on ticket type. The basic ticket will include the ferry ride and access to Liberty Island and Ellis Island Adults: $18 Seniors: $14 (62 ) Children: $9 (above 4 years)

Ferry service from Battery Park and Liberty State Park are from 9am -3.30pm (operates every 15-20 minutes)

Although Liberty Island has no Halal restaurants, Muslim tourists will be able to locate numerous restaurants serving a diverse array of Halal cuisine in the city of New York. These tourists could either ask the local to direct them to a nearby Halal restaurant or make inquiries at the hotel or mosque regarding the best Halal restaurants in the city.
