Cork is among the important cities of Ireland and a great place to visit. Picturesquely set, Cork is an amazing city that offers visitors with a lot of fun activities to do. The River Lee flows around the city center making Cork even more picturesque and beautiful. The city offers a wide number of attractions for people of all age groups. The Elizabeth Fort gives visitors an excellent view of the city. The Cork City Gaol is also a wonderful place to visit and this also gives visitors a good view of Cork.

There are some very good museums worth visiting in Cork. Some of these museums include the National Radio Museum, the Cork Public Museum and the Cork Butter Museum. The Cork Vision Centre is located inside a former church but today hosts a large collection of artistic exhibits. Cork also has some beautiful green spaces such as Lough Park and the Fitzgeralds Park. The Blackrock Castle is the site of the Cork Heritage Park, which is well worth a visit.

Cork also features a bustling shopping scenario. The English Market also known as the Princes Street Market is a good place to shop.There are also a large number of shopping centers in Cork the best being the Opera Lane. Merchant’s Quay, Cornmarket Center and the Paul Street Center have some wonderful shops. Other good places for shopping in Cork are Patrick Street, MacCurtain Street, Huguenot Quarter, etc.

Taxis from airport to city center ideally cost 20 Euros. Buses also run regularly from the airport to the city.
