Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city in Vietnam and also the former capital of the country. The city is popularly called as Saigon and is one of the most exciting places to visit in Vietnam. Muslim visitors can have a fun filled halal holiday in Ho Chi Minh City as there are a few good halal restaurants and mosques in the city.

Once known as the Diamond of the Far East, the city today features modern buildings and skyscrapers. The Reunification Palace is one of the main attractions in the city; the palace holds a lot of significance. There are numerous museums in Ho Chi Minh City that depict the history and culture of the area. Some must-visit museums in the city are the Ho-Chi-Minh Museum, Museum of Vietnamese History and the War Remnants Museum.

The Saigon Skydeck is a viewing platform located at the 49th floor of the Saigon Skydeck. Visitors can get a complete view of the city from the sky deck. There are also some beautiful gardens in the city like the Tao Dan Park and the Botanic Gardens. The Dam Sen Water Parkis a great place for the entire family to have fun. There are numerous parks located along the Twenty-Three September Park where visitors can have fun.

Some must-buy things in the Ho Chi Minh City include the traditional Vietnamese art and craft, electronics, lacquer ware, clothing, accessories, etc. The best places to shop in the city are the Ben Thanh Market, Saigon Square, War Surplus Market and Cho Binh Tay.

Nearby Airports

Ho Chi Minh City is served by the Tan Son Nhat Airport; it is the largest airport in the country. Visitors can take buses and taxis to get to the city. The cheapest way to get to the city center is by taking the bus. A one-way bus ticket costs around 5000 dong and for the luggage also visitors have to pay 5000 dongs. Taxis ideally cost 140,000 dongin addition to the 10,000 dong toll tax from the airport to the city center.
