The area of Dahab has been inhabited since a long time ago. The area started developing after 1982 and today is one of the best holiday destinations. Its beautiful surroundings and closeness to Mount Sinai makes Dahab an excellent destination to visit. For those who just wish to laze around, Dahab makes the perfect destination. The warm waters of the Red Sea and the coral reefs in the area make it excellent for divers to explore the underwater world. Some of the best spots for diving are the Canyon, the Blue Hole, the Lighthouse Reef, etc.
Dahab is also a wonderful destination to enjoy windsurfing. The deserts surrounding Dahab also offer visitors with a number of opportunities of enjoyment. Visitors can take a safari ride in the desert and also have fun sand boarding and quad biking. The Coloured Canyon is a few miles away from Dahab and a wonderful place for a day trip. The Old Port area is good to enjoy a walk around.

The nearest airport to Dahab is the Sharm El-Sheikh airport. From the airport visitors can take taxis to Dahab, which ideally cost 150 to 250 LE. Buses are also available from the Sharm El Sheikh bus station to Dahab.
