Located within the London Borough of Hillingdon is the pretty town of Hillingdon. The borough consists of 17 main districts, with the district of Hillingdon being once an ancient parish. The town is home to historical sites, stunning green areas, and so much more. This suburban area really does not have as many attractions as other areas of its size, but it is incredibly perfect for those looking to escape city life. There are however numerous attractions in the neighboring areas of Hillingdon which will keep tourists entertained for days. Muslim visitors must be aware that they will only be able to find a few Muslim-friendly facilities, like a mosque and a couple of Halal restaurants in Hillingdon.

As mentioned above, Hillingdon is home to a few historical buildings and attractions which are quite significant to the town. Hillingdon Court is a Grade II listed mansion which was built in 1858 by Sir Charles Mills as his family home. Following the Second World War, the mansion was turned into a girls’ school. A part of the grounds located near the school were then turned into housing and a public park which then became Hillingdon Court Park.

A prominent landmark in Hillingdon is the Church of St John the Baptist. Located on top of Hillingdon Hill, this church was built in 1629 to replace another structure. Part of the church, mainly the south and east sides, were then subsequently destroyed during the Second World War when a bomb fell on it. The parts that were wrecked were then repaired after the end of the Second World War. The church is quite popular among tourists.

Tourists will find plenty of things to do in the other regions of the London Borough of Hillingdon. Hayes is an area which is great for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. It is home to green areas which are great for relaxation and some family-friendly fun.

Another borough of Hillindon is Uxbridge which is known for its town centre which is lively and houses quite a number of old buildings. It is a great blend of the new and old and is perfect for those looking to get in some shopping while on holiday.

There are also numerous other mosques located in the surrounding areas like Hayes, Uxbridge, Southall, Feltham and Cranford. However, since other prayer facilities in Hillingdon are hard to come by, it is best for Muslim tourists to offer their prayers in the hotel room, when possible
