Hillingdon Court is a Grade II listed mansion which was built in 1858 by Sir Charles Mills as his family home. Following the Second World War, the mansion was turned into a girls’ school. A part of the grounds located near the school were then turned into housing and a public park which then became Hillingdon Court Park.
A prominent landmark in Hillingdon is the Church of St John the Baptist. Located on top of Hillingdon Hill, this church was built in 1629 to replace another structure. Part of the church, mainly the south and east sides, were then subsequently destroyed during the Second World War when a bomb fell on it.
