Lausanne is the capital of the Vaud Canton in Switzerland, and is among the larger cities in the country. Located in Romandy, Lausanne lies along the Lake Geneva and is around 62km from Geneva. Lausanne is flanked by several picturesque surroundings, making the city quite beautiful and a must-visit. Lausanne is settled on three hills at the base of which lies the Lake Geneva. The city is home to the International Olympic Committee and several other sports federations. Lausanne finds its location at the northern end of Lake Geneva and is close to the UNESCO Heritage Site of Lavaux.
