Pontianak is the capital of West Kalimantan, Indonesia. This town on the island of Borneo has plenty of cultural heritage to show for as well as beautiful natural sceneries!

Visit the Bentang House! This is where you can witness what traditional Dayak architecture was like. Its structure is high above the ground where it was built to avoid floods and attacking enemies. Another brilliant architecture in Pontianak is the Kadriyah Sultanate Palace. It was built in 1778 by the city’s founder. Inside the palace, many historical artifacts as well as pictures of the royal family are exhibited to the visitors.

Just like any place in Indonesia, Pontianak has marvelous landscapes to offer! Pasir Panjang Beach and the Tikalong Waterfall are two sites where visitors can enjoy clear waters and relaxing atmospheres. Pontianak also has the Sinka Island Park where over 200 species of animals are protected within the vicinities surrounding gorgeous sights.
