  • The Year Is Coming To An End! Here are 10 Muslim-friendly Destinations To Visit in 2019!

2019 is just around the corner! It’s time for you to start planning your upcoming holiday to an exotic country where you and your loved ones can have the time of your lives. With the growth of globalization, it is now easy for Muslims to enjoy a Muslim-friendly vacation almost anywhere in the world. Spoilt for choice and finding it hard to pick your next holiday destination? No worries! Below is a guide to some spots that will aid you in making your decision more smoothly and efficiently. Check out our travel packages and tours 1. Japan Japan being one of the most kid-friendly countries, I wouldn't hesitate to say that parents can worry less about stumbling upon dangers or hardships with the little ones. Not only does Japan provide its tourists with a rich culture and unique experience with its different traditions, but there is also a great number of hot-spots you can list down in your itinerary. These include the natural sightseeing locations like Mount Fuji and the Osaka Aquarium. For nature lovers, the Japanese-style garden, Kenroku-en, is a must visit. Another famous spot to head to would be Tokyo Disneyland, a dream destination for those traveling with the children. 2. Spain You haven’t entirely lived your life if you haven’t paid a visit to Spain. From the vast amount of places to tour, its history and its culture to the Muslim-friendly hotels and restaurants, Spain is an ideal destination for your summer holidays. Even if you are a person with toddlers or just too tired to lag around the little ones, Spain has plenty of parks to pick from for a relaxed picnic under the shade with your loved ones. One such park would be Park Güell due to its distinctive features brimming with unique structural designs and monuments. If you are in Madrid, do not leave without visiting the public square - Puertadel Sol. When in Barcelona, The Magic Fountain Show is proved to be a super hit with the small ones. You might also want to drop by to the La Rambla Street for some scrumptious gelato while you are there. 3. Switzerland What better place to take your family and friends to than a place that lets them build a snowman? If you’re visiting from a country which only revolve around the sun and rain, your group will surely be so elated with this change of ambience. Not only does Switzerland offer the greatest quality of chocolates, but parents can also encourage their children to pick up learning opportunities with regards to the different types of languages spoken or ethnicities present. There are quite a few sightseeing spots that you and your family can visit but some of the top ones would be the Zurich Zoo, the Kapellbrüke (also known as the Chapel Bridge), the Rhine Falls, and let’s not forget the Alps! 4. Australia Ah, the Land Down Under! Australia is a go-to spot for not only adrenaline junkies looking to spend their time doing blood-rushing adventures but it is also one of the best ideal spots for someone who wishes to opt for a more relaxed vacation. It is guaranteed that your itinerary for a place like Aussie will be nothing short of fun and enjoyment. Thanks to the country’s terrific weather, this serves as a plus point for those looking to enjoy strolls or picnics on beaches like Cape Conran in Victoria and Frangipani Beach in Queensland. Sydney should be a definite go-to location on your list. The Royal Botanic Garden by the Sydney Harbor is a beauty you must witness before your very eyes. As a treat for your kids, you can hop onto a ferry from Circular Quay and head towards the Taronga Zoo, Sydney Opera House and the Luna Park. 5. Maldives Generally, when someone says they hope to visit Maldives, people presume that it’s for a honeymoon or for a romantic getaway with their significant other. However, it’s not just for the lovebirds. Maldives is also considered as a great Muslim-friendly vacation spot for trips with family or friends. Unlike what many believe, Maldives does not have to be a destination that creates a dent in your wallet. If pre-planned carefully, you can tour the Maldives as a budget-friendly holiday. The Maldives does not only offer white sand beaches and a whole load of coral reef. The Maldives is best known for their water sports and snorkeling activities. You can even take the kids for dolphin watching and sandbank swimming at Kaashidhoo where the water is so clear you will be left amazed. 6. Singapore Having a proportion of 15% of its population as Muslims, Singapore thrives on Muslim-friendly locations and eateries where a huge number of their cafes and restaurants are HALAL certified. If you wish to cover all famous landmarks in Singapore, make sure you have a few days in hand. Some of the best few to visit with your children would be Sentosa Island, Universal Studios, the Singapore Zoo and Marina Bay. Gardens by the Bay is also recommended as it enables your kids to learn and witness a vast variety of lush greenery and exotic plants in a beautiful and one-of-a-kind setting (let’s not forget the Instagram-worthy photos that you can take). 7. Germany If you wish to go back in time and have major throwbacks of the Islamic heritage and culture back in the day, Berlin and Munich are the places to be when in Germany. The two cities have the highest proportion of the Muslim population so you need not worry when it comes to being on the lookout for Halal restaurants or Muslim-friendly attractions due to the abundance present. If you are looking to visit historical hot-spots, the Berlin Wall, the Berlin Mosque and the Brandenburg Gate can be included into your itinerary. In terms of Halal food, the Baraka for Moroccan food, and the Yarok Fine Syrian Food for Mediterranean food are the places you would love to dine at. 8. Turkey Previously being the home to the Ottoman Caliphate, Turkey is a country constructed of Islamic structures. Turkey brims with Islamic heritage and culture which can be deemed as pleasant for tourists, some of which are showcased in the Topkapi Palace and the Sultan Ahmet Mosque. Do drop by Istanbul and visit the blue mosque for a feel of true Islamic architecture. You will also find a large amount of `bazaars` at reasonable prices to shop from. A city to visit in Turkey with your family is Alanya. The Alanya Castle is a great spot which will give you a holistic view of the entire city from the top. One attraction which will be a hit for your children would be the Pirate Ship Cave Tour. After a tiresome day of sightseeing, you can grab some delicious Halal food from Mezze Grill Ocakbasi Restaurant if you are in the mood for some pizza or seafood. Summertime comes off as a busy time for Turkey, so be sure to plan well ahead to avoid disappointment when it comes to hotels and tours. 9. Morocco Distinguished for it’s out-of-the-ordinary culture, Morocco amalgamates influences from Europe and Islam and is overflowing with modern depictions of customary Islam. Karaouine Mosque in Morocco is considered a tourist magnet and it’s the largest mosque in Africa, spacious enough to fit 22,000 people at once. You can choose to wander through the lively blue streets of Chefchaouen and devour delectable Moroccan cuisines from famous restaurants like Restaurant Dar Hatim and Les Saveurs de Riad Fes Maya. Along with over 400 mosques, you and your family can also tour their museums such as Dar Batha and Nejjarine Museum in Fez. PS: While you wander around the streets of Morocco, you can treat yourself to pure leather merchandise and Moroccan slippers at one of the souks in Fez like Souk Serrajine. 10. France France is the ultimate spot to be during summer. You can never get bored rigid in such a place taking into account the large number of attractions and activities that this stunning country has in store for tourists. Disneyland Paris is an obvious choice if you are traveling with your children, along with the countless popular attractions and sightseeing spots like the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre and Jardin du Luxembourg Garden. You can also visit the Grande Mosquee de Paris, a beautiful mosque in Paris. France also has no shortage of Halal restaurants. You can find various cuisines in multiple eateries, Turkish food at the Sizin Restaurant, Mexican food at Baili and if you desire authentic Halal French cuisine, Les GrandsEnfants should be number one on your list of places to dine at. There are a lot of great muslim-friendly spots that can be recommended for your vacation but it is imperative to take into account the wishes of your children as well if they are tagging along in order to have a successful trip where everyone is satisfied. Visit www.halaltrip.com/wonderful-indonesia for the full contest details! Here are some of the contest entries up to now: I would love to visit Indonesia to experience the culture, hospitality, cuisine and to learn more about Muslim travel. I am not a Muslim myself, but I would like to understand more of the needs of this traveller group that is becoming more and more important in the travel industry. As I am working in the leading B2B travel newspaper in the Middle East, I would love to have the chance to personally learn more about the topic. Maiju Vaananen (Ms.) As Salam Halal Trip for organizing this contest for us travel kakis ! :) I have previously visited Indonesia but to very limited places, confined to only nearby locations such as Batam and Bintan only. Indonesia is a wonderful country housing the largest Muslim population in the world and as a Muslim, I have minimal or no worries when travelling there. I am assured that my halal needs are taken care of, in terms of food and prayer facilities. Mosques are aplenty. The Indonesians are a friendly lot with cheery smiles whenever you see them. What's being said that a smile is a sedekah, yes may Indonesia prosper and be successful always ! They will willingly share what's theirs with yours opening up their homes and hearts to us visitors. I always enjoyed myself whenever I'm in Indonesia :) The favourable currency exchange rates, the variety in shopping items, the beautiful beaches and the natural wonders that Allah swt has granted to this Muslim land, its simply indescribable and astonishing. You have to see and experience it oneself to believe it. Mashallah is the only word I can say.  Wa'alaikum salam.  Norbishah Binte Sharif Assalamualaikum I have been to a few countries in my lifetime but I have never had the opportunity to visit Indonesia yet. However it is high up on my bucket list. Indonesia has so much to offer, natural beauty, history, culture, friendly locals and of course, delicious halal food. Winning a trip to Indonesia would be a dream come true. #halaltriptoindonesia #wonderfulindonesia Sara Essop As-salaamu-alaikum Indonesia is one of the places that I have been longing to visit. It has the largest Muslim population in the world and it would indeed be an honour to be amongst our fellow Muslim brethren in such large numbers. I have also read of many beautiful sights in Indonesia and the numerous pristine islands that are very relaxing and extremely holiday friendly. The Indonesians have made great strides in their economic development and they export many products to South Africa. If possible, it would be very nice to visit some these industries. Bandung is noted for its tea plantations and it would be wonderful to visit some of these plantations. Bandung is surrounded by volcanoes and hike through the forests to the volcanoes is really an exciting proposition. Bandung is the third largest city in Indonesia and it has a large shopping facility which I look forward to visiting.  Anwar Ballim Indonesia is magical. Its people courteous and wellcoming. Its landscapes amazing and its food mouth watering. Such a country is to be visited. Amode Mahomed I would like to win the halal trip to Indonesia because firstly I have never been to Indonesia and always wanted to take my husband and 3 children to experience the Muslim culture and enjoy all the halal food and scenery that Indonesia has to offer. The culture would especially be eye opening for my children who are 9, 7 and 1 years old and be a valuable trip for us as a family. Sirah Asif  I like to visit Bandung because I like Indonesian people  they very cute and innocent. And I  m also interested  to visit beautiful places natural things .Indonesia  has very beautiful  architectured Mosques.I don't know more about Indonesia so I want know and visit Indonesia.  tapalifatema I have never been to Indonesia and interested to visit it in my life time. Nor Rizal Haron Saya mahu ke sana kerana anak-anak sudah besar, maka saya rasa saya perlu memberi ruang kepada diri sendiri sebagai ganjaran setelah bersusah payah membesarkan mereka bertahun-tahun. Saya berharap, saya akan memenangi peraduan ini. Aamiin. LilyJohari Life is all about exploring the moments that matters, the moments that noone can take away from you.. That will stay with you forever. And for me Indonesia would be one (or many) of those moments! As a scuberdiver, travelblogger and passionated geologist - Indonesia has always been on top of my list.  Theresa Torp  I have been from Indonessia's coast ADANG BAY which is just at the city of BALIKPAPAN. I could not go to the city but my friends visited the city and they appreciated it. I would like to see it also, that time I could not go to the city because of my routine. Well it is a muslim country and I love to go there! BMW kick I would like to go to Bandung because Indonesia is a muslim country like Malaysia. I want to see and learn other muslim's country culture instead of its beautiful places. Islam also recommend us to look over the world, enjoy the beauty of the world created by Allah, so that we will be grateful for what Allah had given. I hope that I will win this contest so I can bring any of my family member to learn something from Indonesia.  Farhan Aziz You can literally eat for days in Indonesia and always be trying something new. Some popular Indonesian foods are satay (like lamb or chicken skewers), nasi goreng (a fried rice plate with other foods added to it like fried eggs, vegetables, and chicken), gudeg (a dish made from boiled young jackfruit, often served with rice, sambal sauce and chicken) and my favorite, sambal sauce - a spicy sauce that can be added rice and many other dishes. Indonesia is also one of the largest coffee producers in the world - the phrase “a cup of Java” actually comes from Indonesia’s island of the same name, where the coffee comes from. They are also famous for Kopi Luwak, which is coffee made from the poop of the Luwak - aka civet cat - that has eaten coffee beans and pooped them out. Sounds gross but it is actually rare and quite expensive coffee. Indonesia also very popular with the shopping places... 22/12/1985. Cepat sungguh masa berlalu. Cajetan Fernandes  Bismillahirrahmanirrahim! I remember about two months before knowing that I will be going to visit Bandung for a family vacation during the December break which was 2 years ago, I was totally excited and so enthusiastic on getting myself busy searching for attractions and a-must-to-visit-places in Bandung. It was one of the best city that I have ever been/experience. The beautiful scenery around the Volcano area, Gunung Tangkuban Parahu, Kawah Putih and especially the Tea Plantations, where it seem like I'm at the location for filming (just in does Indonesia drama, HAHA!) I totally loved the scenery there, especially the people, surrounding and atmosphere where we won't be able to experience here in Singapore. A part of visiting the attraction places, one of thing I loved about travelling is to try on their local FOOD. Oh well, who doesn't love to eat right? Especially their street food is KEBABOOM! Their local ayam penyet sambal was totally a different taste to where we get here in Singapore, with that I loved it where every food places we went to dine for breakfast, lunch or dinner they will NEVER failed to serve us with a cup of tea, there is where I see a great service serve by them. But how surprise where you thought that the word "Bandung" in meal (Bandung drink or Mee Bandung) could originally come from the city itself, well surprisingly you won't be able to see the local selling any Bandung drink or even Mee Bandung there in Bandung. Basically they the local doesn't even heard about it before. Haha! The most memorable place where I will never forget till today, was when my little brother decided to defecate at the Tea Plantation (due to uncontrollable situation) haha! Totally an unforgettable memory! Well, you will definitely might want to know why I would love to visit Bandung again, so here are the main 6 reason on why I would love/what I would do to visit Bandung again. 1. I would love to come back to their delicious street food, especially BAKSO! 2. I would love to try on some sports and fun activities at the recreation park near to the Sari Ater Hot Spring 3. I would really really love to travel to Bandung with my best friend and experience the beautiful City of Bandung with her I really hope to win this amazing 4 Days 3 Nights trip to Bandung and share this trip with my best friend. Amin! Errdina. K  The last Indonesia trip, to Bali, we went as husband & wife was 3 years ago. It was my second while it was the first for my husband. Ever since that trip, whenever there is documentary show about Indonesia, my husband would bring up about our trip to Bali because he is still mesmerised with their culture, food, the people, the laid-back lifestyle & not forgetting the scenic view. I've been wanting to bring him again to other parts of Indonesia like Lombok, Surabaya, Jakarta, Bandung but because of his tight schedule in operating food business, it's hard for him to have a break. Participating in this means a lot as not only will give him the opportunity to see other parts of Indonesia but also the quality time that I, or rather we long for. For him to have a break. Also, in hope, to relax from the hectic life, and maybe, to make babies in Bandung. Heh. I hope, with this surprise, will be another moment that I can cherish together with my husband, in our marital life. Farahzean Hi there! I'd loveeeee to be given a chance to go to Bandung with my husband if given the opportunity! We went to Bali for our honeymoon in January 2015 and would really, really love to go back to Indonesia again for our upcoming first anniversary! Whatsmore, my ancestors and paternal relatives are from Yogjakarta. Indonesia has always have a soft spot for me, like going back to my roots. Hehe. So please, please! Winning this 2 tickets would definitely be a surprise for my husband as our first anniversary! Thank you so much! Titi Mustika Why would I want to go Indonesia? The fact that I haven't been there explains the immense crave to be there at bandung. In this year itself, bandung seems to be a hot Favourite. Every other person is heading there for kawah putih/tangkuban perahu and as much as everyone would like to bring a loved ones, i would want it too. I would like to bring my very first love one, that is my Mother. Indonesia has long been the 'ah, there's nothing there except the hotspot Bali for honeymoon' but now it's slowly beginning to change. I would like to feel the culture but most importantly, taste the authentic street food, the ayam penyet as well as the Mee bakso. And whats more, the shopping haven! Kain seems to be a hot Favourite there and bringing my Mother to bandung is definitely her kind of thing. I definitely want to be given a chance to give her the experience and the happiness for going to a holiday that she feels at sync with. What other way to reconnect with a jawa than to head to Indonesia? Siti Zuliana Indonesia was one of our first trips abroad and it was exciting and new, all those years ago. With the family, you have to do everything together, and we were too small to know how amazing a place it was anyway. We were in Jakarta as far as I remember, and we visited a volcano, but reading about Bandung now really makes me wish we went there too! It seems like such an amazing place and I really want to go there. Married now, it would be a great adventure with my husband! We love being outdoors and there is so much to see and appreciate in terms of nature there Salmah Shahnawaz  I really would like to go to any parts of Indonesia because I have not been there at all.  All my life , I have been dreaming to travel and been reading a lot about traveling . Unfortunately I have no time to do that because of family n work commitment.  Now that I have more free time when all my children have grown up and working , I thought I could do what I have been dreaming of doing that is to travel. The first place that I really wish to go is Indonesia. So please give me this chance as I am getting older .  Zaiyang I want to see and explore the beautiful country of Indonesia. Chugbu The Republic of Indonesia is a beautiful country and a majestic archipelago indeed. With its rich cultural heritage and history, as well as its marvelous natural and manmade landmarks, it is definitely a haven for jetsetters and adventure seekers, like me. Travelling around the world has always been my greatest passion in life. I haven't been to this country yet and for that, I express my utmost willingness to have a once in a lifetime travel experience to Indonesia. It has always been included in my bucket list since then. I wanted to know more about their way of living and their language, Bahasa. I would love to see the sights of that wonderful nation, try their delectable cuisine and buy handcrafted souvenirs for my family and friends. But what I am very interested at to visit in Indonesia is the "Paris of Java", Bandung. I would love to explore and enjoy the whole city especially with my best friend and travel buddy, my mom. As they say, "Adventures are the best way to learn." This opportunity will really help me in gaining sufficient knowledge and positive realizations about the place and of course, meaningful memories. So "Travel as much as you can, as far as you can, as long as you can, for life's not meant to be lived in one place" Nadine Dominisse B. Vacante Assalamualaikum w.b.t. 5: Saya ingin makan di The Kiosk. Zaityfarhan I have never been abroad but future I want to visit Indonesia especially Bandung because of the love of its nature and its beautiful scenery. Moreover, this city full of architecture that embrace their tradition and contain meaningful history behind it. Also as part of shopping destination for ladies. Terima kasih. Selamat maju jaya. Hajar Azman  Salam and Hi Halaltrip, My name is Nur Izatul Nabila bt Mohd Ali Hanafiah from Subang Jaya, Selangor. First and foremost why I would like to go to Bandung is because I had never been there before. I always read the article about Bandung and their main attraction such as Pasar Baru and Kawah Putih and make me so eager to go there. I also heard that the food is cheap and delicious, the things are cheap and in huge variety. And if I had a chance to win this trip to Bandung, I will go with my husband for our first honeymoon and explore Bandung for our first time. Nur Izatul Nabila bt Mohd Ali Hanafiah  Dear Halal Trip, I’ve been reading you contest to Bandung and it’s attract me to join your contest. The main reason why I want to win this contest is because I’ve been dreaming to go to Bandung long time ago. With the biodiversity, and the culture that win my heart, Bandung definitely one of the must go places in my life. Not to forget how heavenly to shopping there, an extra bonus for me as a girl to shop there. After all, it’s not the shopping that attract me most. It’s the nature which is at its best, sure a perfect place for a short getaway for me. Hopefully, I’m lucky enough to win this contest. InsyaAllah. Siti Nur Aswani Bt. Mohd. Khir  Hi Halal Trip, Saya nak sangat ke Bandung lagi kerana layanan mesra masyarakat sana buat saya rasa istimewa seperti VIP. #wonderfulindonesia #halaltriptoindonesia #iwanttogotobandungsobad Nur Aqila Kamila Why would I want to go Indonesia? I would love to come back to shop for more nice/ cheap stuffs 4. I would love to stay near to the Kawah Putih area or any where but far from the busy city 5. I would love to know or learn a little bit about Bandung, and lastly 6.
