It is stated in a number of hadith that Laylatul Qadr (Night of Power) will be during the last 10 nights of the month of Ramadan. This was revealed during the same night when the Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Worshipping on this night is better than worshipping for 1000 months. Understanding the significance of this night can help motivate us to increase our worship during the last 10 days of Ramadan.

Narrated Aisha RA:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan." [Sahih Al-Bukhari]

Narrated Abu Salama:

I asked Abu Sa`id, and he was a friend of mine, (about the Night of Qadr) and he said, "We practiced I`tikaf (seclusion in the mosque) in the middle third of the month of Ramadan with the Prophet (ﷺ). In the morning of the 20th of Ramadan, the Prophet (ﷺ) came and addressed us and said, 'I was informed of (the date of the Night of Qadr) but I was caused to forget it; so search for it in the odd nights of the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan. (In the dream) I saw myself prostrating in mud and water (as a sign). So, whoever was in I`tikaf with me should return to it with me (for another 10-day period)', and we returned. At that time there was no sign of clouds in the sky but suddenly a cloud came and it rained till rainwater started leaking through the roof of the mosque which was made of date palm leaf stalks. Then the prayer was established and I saw Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) prostrating in mud and water and I saw the traces of mud on his forehead." [Sahih Al-Bukhari]

2. Increase Your Worship

During the last 10 days of Ramadan, it is important to increase our worship. This can include performing extra prayers, reciting more Quran, and making more dua (supplication). The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to spend these days and nights in worship, and we should strive to do the same.

Narrated Aisha (RA):

With the start of the last ten days of Ramadan, the Prophet (ﷺ) used to tighten his waist belt (i.e. work hard) and used to pray all night, and used to keep his family awake for the prayers. [Al- Bukhari]

3. Seek Forgiveness

The last 10 days of Ramadan are also a time for seeking forgiveness for our sins. We should take this opportunity to repent for our past mistakes and ask Allah for forgiveness. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to say "O Allah, you are forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me." We should make this dua frequently during the last 10 days of Ramadan.

Aisha (RA) reported:

I asked: "O Messenger of Allah! If I realize Lailatul-Qadr (Night of Decree), what should I supplicate in it?" He (ﷺ) replied, "You should supplicate:

اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعفُ عني

Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun, tuhibbul-'afwa, fa'fu 'anni

O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me)." [At-Tirmidhi]

Jibril (peace be upon him) would meet him every year during the month of Ramadan until it ended, and the Prophet (ﷺ) recited to him the Qur'an; and when Jibril met him Allah’s messenger (ﷺ) was most generous in giving charity like the blowing wind. [Sahih Muslim]
