The city of Abha is one of the most beautiful cities in Saudi Arabia. It is located in the South Western part of Saudi Arabia and is surrounded by soaring mountains, fertile plains and deep valleys. The weather in the area is mild and pleasant. The city is known for its beautiful old mud houses which were built vertically in a way that could repel the heat but trap the cool desert wind. Driving around the outskirts of the city, one can see several old villages.
The area of Al Muftaha Village has several attractions including the Archaeological Centre, King Fahd Cultural Center, Media Centre and the Al Muftaha Theatre. Another attraction in Abha is the Shada Palace, which is now a museum and houses several old paintings, manuscripts, coins and photographs. About 10 Km from Abha is the WadiMahala. The area is quite green and the serves as the watering hole for several birds and animals. The Mount Sooda is another attraction in the area. It is among the highest peaks in Saudi Arabia and a cable car ride is available to ply visitors to the summit.
Abha is a wonderful place for people to enjoy shopping. The city has numerous markets and shopping malls. Some of the best places to shop in Abha include the Abha Mall, Asir Mall, Rihana Mall, etc.

The nearest airport to Abha is the Abha International Airport. It is located on the eastern side of the city and is served by domestic flights connecting to Jeddah and Riyadh. From the airport visitors can take taxis. The nearest international airport to Abha is the Jeddah Airport located about 645 Km from the city. There is a coastal road that connects Jeddah to Abha and buses and taxis are easily available from the Jeddah Airport to Abha.
