The New Orleans City Park, located in the heart of the city is a must-visit for those looking to unwind and relax as well as for those looking to have some fun; making it a popular attraction amongst locals and tourists alike. The 1300 acre park stretches from Bayou St. John to Lake Pontchartrain and is home to numerous recreational activities. Inside the park, visitors will find sprawling lawns, walking and biking paths, multiple athletic fields, picturesque lagoons, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the New Orleans Botanical Garden, the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, a golf course, Storyland and so much more. Carousel Gardens Amusement Park features numerous fun rides for all ages, including an antique wooden carousel. Visitors can hire boats and explore the lake, or just have a relaxing picnic by it. The park offers so much to do and see, thus making it a favorite among visitors of all ages.

If unable to, they can make use of the facilities offered at one of the numerous mosques in the city, such as New Orleans Masjid Al-Islam, the Islamic Center of New Orleans, Muhammad Mosque or Masjid ur-Rahim.
Visitors to the park will find numerous vending machines and concession stands located all over the park. Parker's Cafe in the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park offers a variety of fantastic food and drink options. Muslim visitors can stick to the vegetarian and seafood options if dining here. Since City Park is perfect for picnics, it is recommended that visitors take along some snacks when visiting the park.
