Prayer Facilities

Muslim visitors to the Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium will not be able to find prayer facilities. They will therefore have to visit one of the many mosques in the city of New Orleans. When needed, they could ask to be directed to the closest mosque in the area. Some mosques in New Orleans include the New Orleans Masjid Al-Islam, the Islamic Center of New Orleans, Muhammad Mosque and Masjid ur-Rahim.

Halal Food

Those looking to dine on more normal food than the dishes served at Bug Appétit, could dine at the Tiny Termite Café; where they will be able to find a selection of delicious treats, and dine on ‘living’ tables which have real insects in the middle. Since the food served here will not be Halal certified, Muslim tourists can dine on the vegetarian and seafood options available. There are also quite a few Halal restaurants in New Orleans for those looking specifically for Halal certified food.
