Panglao is located in the municipality of the extremely popular tourist province of Bohol. In addition to the main island, Bohol also comprises 75 other smaller islands which surround it. The main island is divided into 47 municipalities, including the municipality of Panglao.
Panglao covers an area of over 55 square kilometres and is renowned for its world-class diving locations and water activities. It is also particularly famous for its glittery white sand beaches and shores lined with a number of restaurants.
Must-visit attractions include the Hinagdanan cave - a cavern featuring a deep lagoon as well as several stalactites and stalagmites. Popular activities include dolphin watching and freediving, in addition to several other water sports.
The airport closest to Panglao is the Tagbilaran Airport which is located about 20 kilometres away from the city centre. The airport sees domestic, flights from both Manila and Davao City, and has been declared a Principal Airport Class 1 by the CAAP. The Sibulan Airport is the next closest airport which is located about 90 kilometres from Panglao.
Finding Halal food in Panglao will prove to be difficult. However, plenty of seafood options as well as vegetarian cuisine will be available. Visitors could also bring along a few Halal food items with them.
Though no known mosques are available in Panglao, visitors could visit the Islamic Center in Tagbilaran, which is located a few kilometres away from Panglao.
