You do not lay claim over the TV remote these days so where can you go to just kick back and relax? The movies of course! Yes, you need to pay money for the ticket but it’s definitely worth it!

Call some of your fellow non-football-fan friends and head over to a cinema near you, get some popcorn, recline on your seat and enjoy the movie. Who needs a small-screen TV when you can watch a movie on a mega screen at the cinema with great surround sound?!

No fuss, no muss, and no one telling you to change the channel back to a sports channel broadcasting the World Cup.

2. The Mall

Take this as an excuse to head to the mall, be it window shopping or actual shopping! Call a couple of friends and have some fun whilst everyone else is stuck indoors glued to the TV.

Go to the latest cafe or check out the latest designs in season this year at the clothes stores and update your Instagram feed and Facebook timeline with the latest food photo which is sure to make your friends or family watching the game at home jealous!

3. Pamper yourself

Book a spa date for you and some girl pals!

You see it on TV all the time so this time it’s your turn to actually give yourself some TLC! Book an appointment and enjoy a facial, get updated on the latest gossip, and get matching nail art done all whilst listening to soothing and relaxing music.

4. Sleepover

Whilst the boys are enjoying the game the girls can enjoy a good ol’ sleepover!

Snuggle up on the bed in your best jammies and watch a movie on the laptop with some snacks or even share each other’s complaints about the guys hogging the TV! Take this time as a great opportunity to catch up with friends and have proper girl time.

5. If you can’t beat them, join them

If all else fails, sit down with your loved ones, learn about the game and watch the match with them. Support their team and spend some quality time with your family and friends who are football maniacs!

At the end of the day, nothing is more important than family, and what better way to spend it than watching a competitive game with them! Decided to "give up" and join the crowd? Here are some articles that might help in understanding this year's world cup in Qatar:

Hopefully, this list of activities will help you when the TV is hogged by football fans. No matter what don’t forget to have fun!
