Halal Fine-Dining Restaurants in Singapore

Singapore's Halal food scene has been getting some pretty great updates recently. A long time ago, the only way you could get Halal food was to locate a nearby Halal restaurant in Singapore, and you'd have to settle with what you got.

Well, you don't have to stick to just street food vendors or the hole-in-the-wall neighbourhood shop for Halal dining in Singapore anymore! Don't get us wrong, that kind of food is delicious too, but now even some of the best restaurants in Singapore in 2017 are either Halal-certified or serve Muslim-friendly dishes.

Here are some of the best affordable Halal fine dining restaurants in Singapore:

1. Halia, Singapore Botanical Gardens

Surrounded by the lush greenery of the Singapore Botanical Gardens (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Halia, a fine dining restaurant, recently received its Halal certification from the Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS). The restaurant serves up Muslim-friendly food dishes in Singapore that fit into its fine-dining theme, like smoked kingfish, lamb rack, and spice islands marinade rump stew. The location, the ambiance, the incredible view, and the amazing food makes Halia one of the best experiences in high-end dining in Singapore. Halia also hosts private events like weddings and other banquets as well.

2. Santaro by Gion

Santaro by Gion is a Japanese fine dining restaurant in Singapore and the first of its kind to receive a Halal certification. It offers premium Japanese cuisine, catered to satisfy the requirements of a Muslim diet. For instance, they do not use pork, lard, or alcohol in the preparation of their dishes, but also take special care in making sure the sauces that are typically used in Japanese cuisine are also strictly Halal. But that doesn't make their food any less delicious or authentic. Santaro by Gion also offers diners the traditional Japanese dining experience of sitting on tatami floors.

Note: Although Santaro by Gion were located at Amara Hotels, they have moved on since the end of September 2017. They haven't announced their new location yet, but we still think it's worthy of a mention on this list because we're excited to see what comes next!
